Head of People Development

Build the future of people development

Are you passionate about how people grow — and about building the structures that make growth happen rather than leaving it to chance? Do you want to own an agenda end-to-end, from designing the process to seeing it run?

NORTH is looking for a Head of People Development to own how our consultants grow across a career with us, and to build the NORTH Academy that supports it.

Your responsibilities

You own NORTH’s People Development agenda.  Short term, focus on building the NORTH Academy and ensuring our core talent development processes run smoothly. Longer term, you define and continuously improve processes that hold a consulting career together at NORTH — career paths, talent development, feedback, and knowledge sharing.  The role does not contain marketing, recruiting, or HR administration responsibilities.

The role consists of:

  • Running and maturing NORTH’s talent development practice

    • Responsible for the design and continuous development of key processes, as well as ensuring they fit together — e.g., talent onboarding and offboarding, counselee matching, competence & certification management, evaluations & feedback, target setting & tracking for the People process area.

    • Maintain NORTH's role descriptions, establish training frameworks, and more.

    • Note: NORTH already has an established counselor set-up, so coaching itself is not part of this role.

  • Drive the evolvement of the NORTH Academy

    • You own the direction, framework and quality of the Academy — you oversee, delegate, support and quality assure, but do not produce, the training material and content itself, with the primary support of consultants (no dedicated team).

    • Apply and challenge the established philosophy of effective and motivating learning in a consulting company.

    • Develop the level-based curriculum framework — learning objectives, topic sequencing and skill progression per consulting level — based on the established level-based competence model (content and materials are produced by consultants, under your quality assurance).

    • Create the roadmap and plan for developing and rolling out new Academy sessions.

    • Build the annual wheel of Academy sessions — cadence, allocated trainers, required formats and practical requirements.

  • Design the processes we are not mature on yet

    • Staffing management — how consultants are matched to projects, and how staffing decisions are made, governed, and communicated.

    • Leave management — designing and developing the process itself and the employee journey around it.

You will report directly to Patrycia Kragh, Associate Partner.

Your skills and experience

To excel in this role, you should be ambitious and driven to make NORTH’s talent development iconic. You’re not afraid to challenge conventional approaches and take a directive stance in advancing talent development from essential to exceptional. You are a structured and conceptual thinker who is equally comfortable designing a framework and chasing the last 10% to get it live. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and are able to deliver impactful outcomes.

You are an orchestrator who can leverage our consultants' untapped knowledge and resources. As a team player, you enjoy empowering others to shine and are not hesitant to involve others in reaching ambitious goals.

We prefer you to have the following qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of professional experience, preferably in management consulting.

  • Experience in daily operations of the core processes within the People area

  • Proven process design skills, with the ability to take an undefined area and turn it into a documented, workable process that people actually follow.

  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to break down deliverables, sequence activities, and delegate effectively while managing multiple stakeholders in resource-constrained environments.

  • A stringent executor with a solid understanding of how to manage potential bottlenecks and proactively address issues to keep plans on track.

  • Experience conceptualising learning programmes, including methodologies (e.g., classroom training, online learning) and curriculum design (e.g., skill progression frameworks).

  • A passion for developing talent, driven by curiosity about employee growth and the ability to prioritise the skills critical to success at NORTH.

  • Comfort with measuring results and evaluating the performance of finished initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with creativity and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; Danish is an advantage.

What we offer you

We offer a welcoming, dynamic, and challenging environment. You will get a high degree of responsibility & development opportunities among highly competent and ambitious colleagues and leaders, as well as regular mentoring and feedback to support your growth. You will work with a high degree of flexibility, and most importantly, you will join a social family culture and down-to-earth spirit.

How you apply

Please send your cover letter and CV before the application deadline on September 25. We will review applications and schedule interviews on an ongoing basis. The start date is flexible, but ideally from November 1.
